Uber faces $26 million fine for misleading customers on cancellation fees

Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says Uber’s cancellation fee for scrapping rides has cost the rideshare company in Australia $26 million in an agreed penalty with the ACCC.

Mr Greenwood said the ACCC ruled the statement “mislead consumers” because Uber has a five-minute free cancellation window.

“Uber has also admitted to inflating taxi fares when it was comparing the services,” he said.

Yet Uber drivers can cancel on you as many times as they like. Glad this company has been fined . Well done! 👍

Uber are the worst, I'd never use them. Just find a legitimate taxi with an actual local base that is accountable
